The People Could Fly
Published in 1985
This major contribution to children's literature brings the fascinating range of American Black folktales and humor to all children.
Many are from different countries and in different langauges or dialects.
Selections are animal tales, tall tales, super natural tales, and slaves tales of freedom.
The book is divided into four catagories. Tales of the Real, Extravagant, and Fanciful; Tales of the Supernatural; and Slave Tales of Freedom. I was able to see connections between stories that fit into the same category. Just as I got tired on one type of story, the type changed for me.
